At the meeting, Chen Song, member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology, presented the academic work report of the Hunan Association for Science and Technology in 2024. Ma Wensheng, member of the Party Group and Director of the Office of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, reported the comprehensive evaluation results of the affiliated societies of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology for the year 2023. 41 societies, including the Provincial Geological Disaster Prevention and Ecological Restoration Society, were rated as excellent. Among them, 10 societies, including the Provincial Geological Society, Provincial Civil Engineering and Architecture Society, Provincial Navigation Society, Provincial Renewable Energy Society, Provincial Forestry Society, Provincial Food Science and Technology Society, Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine and Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Society, Provincial Natural Science Society Research Society, Provincial Land Society, and Provincial Land Spatial Planning Society, were rated as "Top Ten" provincial societies. The attending leaders presented medals to the "Top Ten" provincial and excellent societies.

Wang Guishu stated that the association is an important social force in promoting technological innovation, and should actively explore innovations in improving efficiency, expanding fields, and deepening services; To strive to be the vanguard in cultivating and developing new quality productive forces; Actively introducing high-end intellectual resources, proactively connecting with national strategic forces, and hosting academic activities of the National Society; Deepen the implementation of the two major actions for serving enterprises and strengthen the dominant position of enterprises in scientific and technological innovation; Efforts should be made to promote the integration and development of disciplines, carry out interdisciplinary exchanges and cooperation, break down the "barriers" between various elements and between industry, academia, and research, and provide better innovative elements and development soil for new quality productivity; We should fully leverage the role of high-level scientific and technological talents such as academicians and make good decisions on major scientific and technological strategies; We should fully tap into grassroots scientific and technological human resources, promote large-scale and high-level innovation and entrepreneurship, and transform scientific and technological value into economic and social value.

At the meeting, the Provincial Forestry Society, Changsha University of Science and Technology Association, and Hunan Zennze Technology Co., Ltd. made exchange speeches, introducing the ideas and methods of our unit's work.

In order to promote the innovation and entrepreneurship of scientific and technological workers, the Provincial Association for Science and Technology issued the proposal of Innovation in Higher Fields and Entrepreneurship in Wider Fields to scientific and technological workers in the province at the meeting, calling on scientific and technological workers in the province to keep in mind the instructions, follow the orders, be determined to innovate, and forge ahead, and highlight the greater achievements of the scientific and technological Hunan Army in the process of cultivating and developing new quality productivity and accelerating the realization of Chinese path to modernization.

The conference also invited Professor Liu Maosong from Hunan Normal University to give a special report on "Promoting the High Quality Development of New Quality Productivity".
